Metalrax Storage is fully aware of its responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and other safety related legislation applicable to its range of operations.
The objective of the Metalrax Storage Policy is to minimise risk to the health and safety of employees and others affected by its activities.
In order to carry out its responsibilities, metalraxstorage will make effective arrangements to reduce risk to an acceptable level by the identification, evaluation and control of hazards present in the workplace and the provision of (so far as is reasonably practicable):
- Safe methods for the handling, use and storage of materials and substances.
- Safe plant, machinery and equipment.
- An environment that is safe and without risk to health.
- Sufficient information, instruction, training and supervision to enable employees to work safely thereby ensuring the safety of themselves and other persons affected by their work.
The Company Senior Director will have prime responsibility for metalraxstorage Health and Safety organisation and management.
Metalrax Storage will consult with employees on measures for promoting health and safety at work and will make arrangements for a Health and Safety Committee with safety representatives in accordance with the appropriate statutory requirements.
Managers are responsible for undertaking Risk Assessments as directed by Senior Directors and implementing the Policy in all areas under their control.
All employees have a duty to comply with Metalrax Storage safe working practices and to act in a manner that does not place them or other persons at risk. Employees are not to misuse or interfere with equipment that is provided to support a safe working arrangement.
Employees should report immediately to supervisory staff any defect, hazard, near-miss incident or accident that they may be aware of. This will help management to implement the necessary corrective and preventive action required and to initiate further investigation as required.
A copy of this statement will be issued to all employees and reviews of the statement or supplements relevant to particular sections will be published or posted on notice boards.
Metalrax Storage organisational arrangements for health and safety are set out in the Health and Safety Manual, a copy of which will be made available to all employees.
