How does mobile shelving work?

Shelving units are mounted onto mobile bases and propelled along fixed tracks to open up access gangways.  A unique ergonomically designed triple spoked hand wheel is connected through a simple geared sprocket to the drive shaft.  The metalraxstorage mobile shelving system requires minimum effort to move a fully loaded mobile shelving base.

How will it look?

We understand that in certain departments aesthetics can be important.  metalraxstorage mobile shelving can be fitted with front decorative end panels in a choice of colours to compliment your existing office furniture. 

Is it safe to use?

With our unique safety EL hand wheels, your staff can feel at ease when using the system, secure in the knowledge that the bases cannot be moved whilst they are in an aisle.  This is achieved by means of a positive lock in the centre of each hand wheel that can be engaged or disengaged by staff.

Is it quick and easy to install?

Yes, Metalrax Storage mobile shelving does not require floor fixing and is a completely free standing system.  It can be installed directly onto your floor covering without causing any damage.  Installation can be achieved with minimum disruption to your organisation.

Is it easy to maintain?

Yes, general housekeeping is required to keep the tracks clear from items such as paper and paperclips, etc.  This can be done by simply brushing the tracks regularly. Metalraxstorage can also offer a full 12 month maintenance agreement, if required.
