Metabolt bolted steel shelving, based on the original BS826:1955 specification, has remained one of the most popular shelving systems since it was originally introduced. The benefits of a robust construction and adaptability combine together in a system created to address the needs of medical records and x-ray storage. Simple runs of Metabolt can be easily extended and enhanced with a wide range of accessories. Complex single and multi-tiered installations can be designed to maximise the available space of even the most awkward shaped hospital buildings, whilst Metabolt on mobile bases offers maximum space utilisation.
A range of accessories converts a simple bay of Metabolt into a comprehensive shelving system. These can be included when the system is initially built or retrofitted as the need arises and includes:
- Dividers
- Bin fronts
- Doors
- Shelf trays
Metabin containers can also be used with the added benefit of colour identification and product classification. In addition Metabolt can be mounted onto mobile bases to provide a saving in floor space or alternatively an increase in storage capacity.
